I had the unfortunate experience of watching the show Wasted, on Planet Green TV. This particular show aired on July 13th and tried to convince the show's couple, and the viewing audience, that this family of three, a two year old son, was "trashing the planet" and made rediculous comments, such as the universe would need "six more planets" to sustain the lifestyle of this couple. Another scare tactic, that is totally unfounded, is that because the husband drove a "gas guzzling" truck, it was akin to "leaving their refrigerator door open for six years". As the show progressed, I was disgusted that they would show a picture of the couple's 2 year old son with the word "GUILTY" plastered across his face. The truth behind this pathetic show was revealed when they bribed the couple into changing thier lifestyle by buying them a new washer and dryer, and paying them cash equal to thier projected annual savings, if they would change thier lifestyle for three weeks.

I know that the Discovery Channel has a looney slant on environmental issues and I should have expected this show to blame you and I for what may of may not happen to our environment. To think that not recycling and driving a SUV will cause me to trash the planet and cause all our living space in the world to be destroyed or used is not only rediculous, it's down right dishonest. This will certainly be the last time I watch this misleading network and my hope is that they bring sanity and science to their programing.
